Restoration and Recovery of TuscaloosaOn the afternoon of April 27 a EF4 tornado descended on the heart of Tuscaloosa. Forty-three citizens were killed and thousands of homes and buildings were destroyed or severely damaged. Many of the homes and businesses were without insurance or financial means to clear and repair or restore these structures. The First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa volunteered their facilities to house volunteer mission groups coming to Tuscaloosa to help with the restoration.
