Stewardship

By our Fruits they shall know us

You will know them by their fruits.  Matthew 7:16

If I could put it simply, the mission of the church is to bear fruit to show that Jesus is visibly active and alive.  I see this each day in the work, worship and lives of the disciples of Fort Hill Church.  I see Jesus made visible...

...as you serve in this community in your daily lives

...as the doors open each morning to our little ones at the Fort Hill Preschool

...as students wrestle with faith and life questions, and bless us with their energy and witness

...as groups meet to study the Bible, care for each other, and ask, "What is God calling us to do?"

...as deacons and shepherds reach out in love to a family or a forgotten person in need of care

...as we give our money and our time to Clemson Community Care, the Free Medical Clinic, Our Daily Bread, Our Daily Rest, and more to provide comfort and essentials to a growing number of our neighbors struggling for work and resources

...as couples meet with a minister to discuss an upcoming marriage or the meaning of baptism

...as the halls are filled with people coming to Alcoholics Anonymous or counseling or Boy Scouts or for support for mental illness or ________________ (you fill in the blank)

I am grateful that those who came before us have provided a church which bears much fruit.  They have provided so we are fed and able to take Jesus' good news into God's world.  Fort Hill is a special place.  I am thankful to have the privilege to serve, grow, and worship with you.  It is a joy to support this church with finances, labor, and prayers.

Giving in response to God's good news is a personal matter.  I invite you to join Chuck and me in supporting the life and mission of this church by setting a goal of tithing.  If you have never pledged before, take this opportunity to ask how you might also support making Jesus visible in this place.  If you already give and know the deep satisfaction and blessing of growing in generosity, thank you.  I ask you to consider increasing your commitment as we continue the good work begun by God here.

Jesus says, "By our fruits they will know" (Matthew 7:16).  As you look around Fort Hill, you will see Jesus in the faces here.  I invite you to make your pledge so we can together bear fruit and make Jesus visible to this world that God loves!

Faithfully Yours,

Laura Conrad
