Stewardship
Continuing on the Journey of Faith; Financial StewardshipThe earth is the Lord's and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it. Psalm 24:1 At the heart of it, we believe that everything ultimately belongs to God. We are called to be caretakers of all that God has made and given to us. Another word for caretaker is steward. "Stewardship Season" is something we hear a lot. It sounds like a sports season: baseball season, football season, and so forth. But stewardship is a practice of our faith that is year-round. We are always trying to decide how to use or care for our resources. We believe that we give a portion in return to God for God's abundant grace and blessing toward us. We return a portion of what really, ultimately belongs to God. Our church practices pledging or promising to support the work of God's church financially. In pledging we are being faithful members and stewards of the grace of God. Also your promise and pledge helps the Elders who serve to lead, direct, and make plans for the future of the church. I hope you will consider how you can respond to the abundant grace of God with the giving of your money, so that together we can Continue on the Journey of Faith and serve God as disciples in this community and in God's world.
