Our Ministries of Session
Building and Grounds MinistryThe Building and Grounds Ministry sees to the maintenance and repair of the Fort Hill Church properties. The ministry is responsible for the care of the physical plant, the care of the grounds, and for the planning of maintenance to be done in an orderly and cost effective manner. Christian Action MinistryThe purpose of the Christian Action Ministry is to create, implement, and administer programs, which, with approval of the Session, support and develop the church's local, national, and international missions. The Christian Action Ministry will sustain existing mission programs and encourage the development of new mission programs. Christian Education MinistryThe Christian Education Ministry provides oversight for developing, maintaining and supervising all Christian Education activities of Fort Hill Church. Congregational Fellowship MinistryThe Congregational Fellowship Ministry works to strengthen the body of Fort Hill Church through an active program for all members. The ministry has the responsibility for developing programs that will strengthen Christian fellowship and mutual concern among members, and increase their ability to give and receive support in the spirit of love. Finance MinistryThe Finance Ministry is designated by Session as the overall coordinator of Church financial activities. In this role, the Finance Ministry has responsibilities for the coordination and oversight of the work of the Treasurer and, through the Treasurer, the Office Administrator. Membership MinistryThe Membership Ministry serves as the evangelistic arm of the Church and through its work enables the Church, both corporately and individually, to proclaim its message and mission to the world. Its primary functions are to attract, identify, nurture, invite and assimilate new members into the Church. Personnel and Program Support MinistryThe purpose of the Personnel and Program Support Ministry is to deal with all issues pertaining to staff and the support of the staff. This ministry is responsible for ensuring that the varied programs of the Church receive adequate personnel, equipment, and financial resources to accomplish their varied tasks. In addition, the ministry is to assist in the supervision of staff in cooperation with the minister. University Ministry (UM) MinistryThe UM Ministry has the responsibility for developing programs that will reach out in Christian love to students, bringing them by word, example, and Christian ministry the good news of God's saving grace through Jesus Christ. Worship MinistryThe purpose of the Worship Ministry is to provide meaningful worship services for members of Fort Hill Church and for other members of the community. The Worship Ministry is responsible for developing worship policies, planning and coordinating arrangements for all worship services, and for the musical life of the Church. Youth & Young Adults MinistryThe Youth & Young Adults Ministry is to enhance a deepening of Christian Faith in the youth and young adults of our Church and community through fellowship, love, respect, and concern with and for one another. This committee provides oversight for the following activities of the congregation: Middle School Youth Group, Senior High Youth Group, and Young Adult ministries.
