Habitat for Humanity

One of the local missions supported by the Fort Hill Church is Pickens County Habitat for Humanity.  The church has sponsored a house built on Forest Lane for the Fewless family, and the church is again able to sponsor another house to begin this fall, as the 2009 Clemson University "Homecoming House".  The house will be built on Bowman Field and moved to 116 Quail Circle, just off Rt. 93 near Central/Norris line.  Once the house is moved, members of Fort Hill will lead in the completion of this house.

The new owners will be Keith and Christina Kerswell and their four children, three girls and a boy.  Keith works for the town of Easley, and Christina is employed by the CVS in Liberty.  Along with our funding commitment of $15,000, over three years, our congregation will once again need volunteer workers on each Saturday from November 7, 2009, through May 29, 2010, except for November 28, December 26, and January 2.

This is a wonderful outreach opportunity for "sharing God's love in the community" that is open to both men and women.  Experience is not a requirement, just a willingness to participate.  We will be providing a much-needed home for a family that couldn't otherwise afford it.  Please volunteer on as many Saturdays as you can to make all this happen.  Without our effort, the house won't get built.

Please contact John Sherman (654-1957 or johnmsherman@bellsouth.net) if you are available to help or have any questions.
