BSA Troop 235

Boy Scout Troop 235 was established in October 1963 and chartered by Fort Hill Presbyterian Church.  Our troop has a long history of service to the Clemson area and is known for its outstanding scouting tradition and program for all aged scouts.  The troop meets almost every Monday night in the Lower Club Room of the church from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

100th Anniversary of Scouting Celebrated on Scout Sunday

In 2010, the Boy Scouts of America is celebrating its 100th Anniversary and the theme is "Celebrating the Adventure—Continuing the Journey".  In recognition of this milestone, the Troup and Pack 235 planted and dedicated a redbud tree on the church grounds after the Scout Sunday service on February 7th.  The troop celebrated the actual birth date at its meeting on February 8th with a huge cake.  And most of our scouts will be working on special 100th anniversary awards dealing with Character, Achievement, Leadership, Service and the Outdoors over the next year.  For more fun, the National council has dusted off some retired merit badges (carpentry, signaling, pathfinding and tracking) which scouts can only earn this year in order to give the scouts a taste of historical scouting.  Otherwise, our active outdoor and service program will continue as per the theme above—it's the journey which makes the difference!

High Adventure Outings

High Adventure Outings are a hallmark of our Outdoor Program.  This past summer we took three crews to the Florida High Adventure Sea Base for a scuba adventure.  We made nine dives on the reefs near Islamorada in the Keys.  The boys were able to view a new exciting and beautiful underwater world.  Besides the beautiful coral, we saw many colorful fish and Nurse Sharks, Green Moray Eels, and Sea Turtles.  Below are a few of the many pictures taken on this adventure.
