Bible SojournersLed by a handful of class members, this group explores various topics through lecture and discussion. This fall, the class will explore the basic tenets of the Christian faith using Christian Doctrine by Shirley Guthrie. Meets in the first floor of the administration building in the Club Room. Collegiate Coffee HourCreated just for college students, this group meets to discern God's Word as it applies to collegiate life. Meets at the Presbyterian Student Center at 9:30 a.m. Contemporary Issues ClassCome explore the Bible, its nature and purpose, and how it speaks directly and indirectly on some contemporary moral issues. Led by class members, this group is exploring the book The First Paul: Reclaiming the Radical Visionary behind the Church's Conservative Icon by Marcus Borg and Dominic Crossan. Meets on the second floor of the education building in the Library. Cooper ClassUsing the denomination curriculum The Present Word, class participants explore Jesus' life and ministry through Scripture and discussion. Fall semester focuses on the nature of God using selected passages from Exodus and Psalms. Meets on the second floor of the education building in Room 210 — directly across from the Library. Net MendersThrough reflection and discussion, class members explore a balance of Bible study, contemporary issues, and life situations. The group will continue their exploration of faith and society using A New Kind of Christianity: Ten Questions That Are Transforming Faith by Brian McLaren. Meets in Bethlehem Hall #2, underneath the Sanctuary. SeekersGeared towards couples, this class explores discipleship through the lens of marriage, family, and careers. The Seekers will continue with their study of The Apostle's Creed for Today by Justo Gonzalez. Meets on the second floor of the education building in Room 205. Video Discussion ClassUsing various videos led by collegiate and seminary scholars, class members view a presentation on a Biblical topic then discuss their impact on the Christian faith and life. This fall, the class will being with History of Christianity in the Reformation Era by Brad Gregory, Associate Professor of Modern Christianity at the University of Notre Dame. Meets on the second floor of the administration building in the Conference Room. |
