About Our School
Our ProgramOur Preschool is an educational ministry of the Fort Hill Presbyterian Church. The Program operates under the Christian Education Committee of the church Session, and is administered by the Preschool Board of Directors. Creative ActivitiesGuided by teachers, children learn and play with easel and finger painting activities, crayons, play dough, and cutting and pasting. Indoor PlayChildren have time each day to play in various "centers," with toys such as blocks and other building materials, puzzles, dolls and home living areas, books, nature study, and games. Playground TimeChildren have time each day to play outside on the playground. Playground time promotes coordination, physical growth, and development. Class SizeThe two-year old program allows a class of ten children with two teachers. Threes and fours have classes of fourteen children with two teachers in each class. Group TimeTeachers gather children together for stories, finger plays, singing, rhymes, and discussions. Music, Chapel, Field Trips and MoreEach class has a music session once a week. Our minister leads short weekly "chapel" times for each class, with Bible stories and songs. Older classes enjoy field trips to area attractions several times each year. |
